Author Spotlight - James Oswald with H.S. Clark

James Oswald was shocked when he got a phone call with an invitation to be on The Late Show with Craig Ferguson. James packed his bags, and the just released proof copy of his upcoming mystery The Hangman’s Song. Apparently, Craig Ferguson gave James no clue as to what would be discussed on the show. The Late Show with Craig Ferguson was the signature event for James’ USA visit, but it was timed to coincide with Bouchercon 2014. I got lucky, because I was able to grab James for a one-on-one interview during the conference, shortly after his spot with Craig Ferguson. James is the first author I’ve interviewed from across the pond, and it was quite a thrill. He jump-started his mystery book sales by giving away books and building a large following. Now, his fans gladly pay for the latest installment in his growing Inspector McLean series set in Scotland. I’ve included our video interview here, and also the video of the Late Show with Craig Ferguson episode in which James appeared.
